Our Vegas Getaway!!

Our Vegas Getaway has come and gone! We had such a fun time! Mike's sister Holly and her husband Larkin went with us. Between Mike's mom, sister Heather, and my mom, our kids were well kept here in Idaho Falls while we enjoyed our vacation away! It was the first trip that we have taken without kids since we have had kids!! It was wonderful! We went to Vegas for five days and could not have had more fun. We went to the Cirque du soleil Mystere show and it was incredible! We also went to the American Superstars show which was fun minus a few small details like Michael Jacksons clip on nose and Lady Gaga needed a little help! Don't let the picture of Holly and Larkin fool you! This is how much fun they are totally sober!! It was fun to get some away time and enjoy the sun!

One of the days we were there we drove to Red Rock Canyon. It's about 20 miles outside Vegas and it was so incredibly beautiful. The pictures really don't even do it justice. We hiked around these caves and cliffs and enjoyed the warm weather. And yes Holly is holding her flip flops!

Braden's famous snowboarding!

This last Monday Mike and I decided to take Braden up snowboarding for the first time. We went up to Kelly's and honestly it was the best snow we have ever seen up there. There was so much powder!! We wanted to take the opportunity to teach Braden on softer snow so we were so grateful but then again it was so hard to be stuck on Skier's lane the whole time!! I was feeling like a bad mom because I hadn't taken any pictures of his first snowboarding trip. So last night I was laying in bed watching the news and they were doing a story on how great the snow was up at the resort and next thing I realize....there we were. They filmed a short clip of me trying to teach Braden to go down the hill! How Random!! Of all the people up there! Braden thinks it's pretty cool that he was on T.V.! Thanks Channel 8 for the picture!!

Superbowl here we come!!!

We had some of our own football entertainment during this Sunday's game as these little boy cousins wrestled around and threw around the football. We can not wait for the Superbowl party next Sunday! We've already started buying decorations and even more Packers gear!!

Mike grilled up the best food!! Everything was so delicious!

My little boy lost his first tooth!! What a big day! He is growing up too fast!

Nothing better than watching the Packers on Sunday afternoon!!

I'm honestly almost embarassed to post these pictures!! But I got over that and just have to laugh about it. So last year, Mike started what you might think of as an "ugly Chritmas sweater" contest. He was the only one dressed up and everyone had a good laugh at him. So this year, it was taken to a whole new level. You were actually out of place at the Christmas eve party if you weren't totally decked out. It was so dang funny some of the things that people were wearing. Mike took the cake with his haircut though. It aged him to about 45! Sorry hun, but it was a little scary!! Not quite as scary as Larkin though!!


Mike had been growning his hair out for a few weeks prior to Christmas eve just for this occasion. I had my friend Megan come over to cut my hair on Christmas eve so she had fun getting in on cutting Mike's hair for the party. Dang...what a stylish cut!


Braden was thrilled to open his Gormiti castle. He loves it.

We had some happy little kids this Christmas! It was so fun to watch their expressions with their gifts. We had such a fun Christmas. So many blessings to be thankful for. Although I'm just most thankful that my husband cut the rest of his hair off the next day. He's such a good sport!! My husband is so sweet. He designed and built me an amazing entertainment system this year for our family room. It is beautiful, and he topped it off with a little gift for himself as well (disguised in my name.)!! A huge thanks so my sweet hubby for all of the thoughtful gifts.
